Top 5 Video Games

As 2011 comes to a close it is a good time to look at the top 5 five video games this season. Here are the video games that are most likely to be popular this Christmas and into the next year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Xbox 360 – PlayStation 3 – PC – Wii

You are likely to see this rather long name shortened to Call of Duty: MW3 or even CoD:MW3. The third time into battle, this first person shoot-em-up in a multiplayer environment has certainly been doing well on the Xbox. The realism and play of the previous version has been enhanced with new levels, perks, weapon proficiencies, weapon rank, secondary weapon camouflage, game types called ‘kill confirmed’ and ‘team defender’ and a new mode of play called survival mode. This version of Call of Duty is by far the most anticipated release on a number of the video games sites; it is certainly going to be popular over the holidays.

Gears of War 3 – Xbox 360

Another third time for Gear of War and possibly a final one in this series. This game is a third-person shooter in a cinematic story that continues with new characters and enemies. The graphics are stunning and capable of 3D that can immerse the player into a rich environment, as either a single or multiplayer cooperative player.

Madden NFL 12 – Xbox 360 – PlayStation 3

Simulating to stunning realism the plays in the National Football League of American football this game brings home a lot of the atmosphere of the NFL. The graphics in this game are suggested to be the best of any sports game and this release focuses on the details of game play. They have introduced 25 new plays into the mix with a number of AI improvements. Whether you like American football or not this game is certainly the state of the art in sports games.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – Xbox 360 – PlayStation 3 – PC

The fourth in the series this third person action-adventure game enables you to interact with and explore the world through a number of missions. Typically you must assassinate some important person or complete a mission but there are so many side games to get involved with. This version has you exploring the prison of Vlad the Impaler whilst exploring the city of Constantinople of the Ottoman Empire. You are able to travel about by using ziplines, aerial assaults, by sea as well as the usual by foot. Again this game is totally immersive in a realistic and fascinating world.

Batman: Arkham City – Xbox 360 – PlayStation 3 – PC

Only a sequel this time for this game, but receiving an avid following, this third-person action-adventure game delivers the story and the world of Batman once again from Arkham Asylum in 2009. A combination of combat, stealth and challenge you can play as the Dark Knight or as Catwoman in the complex, realistic and dark world of the game series.

Cars 2, The Video Game

Cars 2Looking for a suitable and enjoyable child’s video game can be hard work for any adult and especially if they are searching for a gift that won’t disappoint. The Cars films are really popular and this game is just as popular with children who love the flashy cars and bright colours of this game.
