Until a few days ago, Yahoo had a really good format for Sudoku puzzles that were available in easy, medium and hard every day. It allowed you to make notations in the squares as you went along, just as if you were doing it on paper. Suddenly it was replaced by the puzzle in the current format. I would sure like to know if the previous style is available at another site.
I have been thinking, given that a sudoku grid has 81 squares with 9 of each number 1-9, what would be the maximum possible different combonations of completed grids? It must be finite, but I can’t work out what it is!

I’m trying to use the nCr and nPr concept to calculate the sudoku patterns.But it really get confusing because of it’s rules.
