Amazon.co.uk Review
The Game Boy Advance features power that would have been unthinkable back when the original Game Boy was launched. Its 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former machine’s 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying bleeps and bloops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitised stereo sound. When you first pick up the system, you’ll notice how lightweight it is. It’s a little less than 150 grams, but a little larger than a deck of playing cards. The GBA’s wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands, and … More >>
Game Boy Advance Console – Black

In a world where everything is getting smaller, this is the best thing since ‘Mini Hula Hoops’.
I had put myself off buying one at first, having owned the original Game Boy & then a GB Colour, I wasn’t sure how much better the Advance would be. But since receiving it I have found it hard to put down, the screen is a good size and the resolution is great. Despite having to still find a good light to play under. The range of games available is excellent. They’re all here, Sonic, Mario Kart, Doom…
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this little gadget is AND it fits in the glove box. If you’re finding it difficult to put your PS2 in your car, this is your answer.
Enough of my waffle, “Buy one, you might like it!”
PS: It helps if you convince one of your mates to get one as well. The link ups are cool.

The GBA was the handheld console I was eagerly awaiting and it is a good console – as long as you have enough light around you for the great graphics. The ocnsole is good but you can’t use it at night
. Therefore I suggest you pay a bit more for the SP which features a backlight. Other than that good console, good games.

I bought this for my seven year old son to keep him amused on long car journies back to Scotland. I’d never looked at a Gameboy before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect on graphics or playability. I bought him a second-hand Rayman game to try out, and then proceeded to worry I was going to have to surgically remove it from his hands. He was just addicted from the word go. The graphics (on this game)are amazing and the gameplay just scrolls effortlessly along. Controls are simple and ergonomic, if that’s the word. The screen is quite dark, a complaint I noted in other reviews, but it’s a minor issue and I can always buy a light for it. Overall, it’s better than I expected and I’m seriously thinking about looking for games I can play on it myself, or even worse, buy my own. Then we can link both together and play each other. Parental bonding for the new Millenium, eh?

Yup, you heard me right – this is the best games console EVER – and here’s why. First lets look at the make up of this thing. It’s small and light (The same size as a gameboy color.) and will run for near on twenty hours off two AA baterys! (Plus the conveniant led will turn red and fade out when it’s time to change them – you’ll never run out of power in the middle of the last levle again!) The screen is nice and big and, despite some complaints on this page, eaisy to veiw as long as your in good light (It’s only the same as with previous gameboys!) The buttons are placed perfectly and the new R and L controls add extra playability and work a treat! Heres the crunch – the GBA is a snes – but you can take it anywhere! Plus you get all the best SNES games for it plus new ones which take advantage of the ten years or so extra learning time for developers! (AND you get saga titles – the compleatpicture!) Most people agree that the snes is a landmark in gameing history – well this is better! forget the bulky next gen consoles – they only foucus on graphics and many games are no fun at all! travle back to the 16 bit era with GBA – PLUS new tecnology means that the GBA should be expecting some games with near on PS1 quality graphics any time soon! a snes, a ps1 all in your pocket. With the TV DE ADVANCE coming soon (alowing you to play gba with a TV SCREEN!) WHAT could be better?

now, the aesthetic qualities of the game boy consoles have improved dramatically over past years, especially since the dull, dreary design of the original. the customer wants more in this day and age. the black design of this installment does not disappoint. its sleek matt black finish will suit any nintendo fanatic, whether goth or hippy. soif you care about your looks as much as your gaming experience, this is the advance for you. enjoy.
