The first game with Bilbo, I mean it took them a while. I actually prefered this book to the LOTR series and the game matches up to them. The grafix arnt all that good but the game play is hallariously fantastic. Makes a bezzy turn game with your mates. The game starts a bit slow but really unfolds into the epic story that made the book. If your into the book I command you , as MrT, to get this game.

One day the Halfling hobbits will rule the Earth. I mean, think about it. They are awfully smart, too intelligent for their own good. They can see and hear things a mile away. And they can go invisible before your eyes.
Or at least Bilbo Baggins can. And in the Hobbit you can step into the shoes of the Burglar…Or at least if those little Hobbits had to wear shoes on their leathery soles of theirs. Go around with the Ring, a walking stick and Sting the elvish blade. Such equipment will become you best friends as you travel from the lands of the Hobbits to the Lonely Mountain of Smaug the Dragon.
You will meet Gollum below the Misty Mountains, defend yourself from Giant Spiders and the servants of the Necromancer in Mirkwood, face wolves and a small variety of monsters before you even see any mountains, and goblins will be there to chase innocent little Hobbits like you every step of the way.
Prepare for the adventure that makes being only four feet tall at the well concealed age of fifty ROCK!!!
I’ve enjoyed the book for many years and having the chance to play through the story was an exciting opportunity.
Graphically The Hobbit is farily average. Everything at the start is brightly coloured and later the game becomes darker. What makes it extremely frustrating to play is the awkward camera. You have control over it but at times you need to make quick, precise jumps and unless you have Bilbo and the camera in exactly the right position you die and have to restart the section again. Also there isn’t room to really explore Middle-Earth, the path is very linear.
Combat is fairly easy to master and with a range of moves and weapons you can find an easy way to dispatch most foes.

Lovely graphics, not mega high tech but perfect for capturing the atmosphere. Thoughtful level design and an easy control system. Thats the techno stuff out of the way. What gameplay!! excellent stuff. My 6 year old could play it and enjoy it and so could I. The storyline of the book is remarkably well adhered to.Each section is a logical step to the next (although I would have liked an escape from Gollum level.)Tricky, but solvable puzzles, fierce but beatable enemies and a gentle learning curve all add up to make the gameplay rewarding and less frustrating than shopping on a saturday. The music is perfectly reflective of the current game situation and the voice acting is very good.Buy it if you want to relax and see a story unfold.

Anyone who has read and enjoyed reading The Hobbit, will definitely enjoy this game. It follows the book almost chapter by chapter, and you will surely recognise some of the areas and names of the characters you encounter on your journeys through Middle-Earth. The levels are very well done and there is somethig different in them all. The puzzles are very good and some of them quite tough too. Eventhough this may a game more suited for older children, the graphics and especially the cinematics that appear throught the game are amazing and well worth seeing. Also the music is very catchy. Definitely well worth gettin
