whilst I don’t dispute that others may have had a problem with the console, I have had mine for years without so much as a hiccup… it is noisey, however I understand the extra fans prevent the system over heating which proved to be a significant problem with the old 360… my advice would be this, understand the risks, from personal experience I’ve had no problem with the console, but I believe this is the best option when buying an x-box… alternatively I’d probably look at the PS3

Love the black finish on the console and the 120gb hard-drive comes in very handy especially if you wish to install games to the hard-drive to lower noise from the 360.
Would recommend spending the extra money to buy one of these simply due to the increased hard-drive space which increases use of this product.

being a multi platform gamer i own a
ps3 as well as a xbox,360 elite and up
till now iv’e had no problems with my
360.
it,s a little short on features like
built in wifi, digital optical output
for sound and hi def movie play back
but it plays standard def movies just fine.
now it,s no secret that the 360,s disc
drive is noisy but if you update to the new
xbox experience, you can install games direct
to the hard drive for silent running.
the xbox live portal is very well established
and is in my opinion the leader with sony and
nintendo playing catchup.
now how many stars to give?
the sword of damocles that is the red ring of
death has not yet fallen on my 360 elite, but it
is a factor i must consider in this review given
i’ve suffered this fate before , so,
i give the console three stars ,and i do this because
of what was left out of the box (wifi, high def and the huge power supply)
now bear in mind i,ve only had my 360 elite for about
a month or so , so ask me again in a year from now.
the online service is best in class but hardware reliability
stops the 360 elite scoring higher.
if the hardware reliability was as robust as the
online service then the 360 elite would be five funnel dreadnaught
but as it stands it,s a three funnel battleship.
